Previously to becoming a chiropractor, Dr. Tran worked in litigation followed by marketing and practice consulting before following her passion to help people through chiropractic. While working at the law firm, Dr. Tran suffered with sciatica due to prolonged sitting. She found relief through chiropractic care. A few years later, she went rollerblading with her dog and had a bad fall – slamming her tailbone against the concrete. Barely being able to move, she went to a chiropractor daily to get back to functioning.
Dr. Tran is blessed to have her own practice in Minnesota specializing in corrective chiropractic, nutrition, and functional medicine. She has helped patients to manage autoimmune disorders, menopause, lose weight, and get off medications. Dr. Tran is on a mission to transform the health and lives of people in Minneapolis, St. Paul, and our surrounding communities.
Here’s something you might not know about me. What I’m about to share changed the course of my life. It’s also a BIG reason why I’m committed to paying it forward to the local community. One day when I was working in the corporate world, I was sitting in front of my computer when I felt this shooting pain going across my head. The pain became so intense that I reached for my Costco-sized bottle of migraine medication. The pain became more intense and my vision became so blurry that I couldn’t see the screen in front of me. All I could think about was curling up in my bed and falling asleep.
As I drove home early from work, the pain continued to get worse. My vision started blacking out on my right and left side so that I could only see a small tunnel in front of me. I prayed that I wouldn’t get into an accident, but nothing would stop me from going home. That day I was able to sleep off the migraine after a few hours of sleep. Over the next few weeks and months, my migraines continued worsening that I started not only taking my sick time but also vacation time. Here’s the surprise: I would go into the chiropractor, which would help my migraines temporarily. But they continued progressing and getting worse. Knowing what I know now, I realized that my migraines continued to get worse because I used chiropractic like I would “pop aspirin” – only when I had pain because that’s what they recommended. Then, of course, I went to a medical doctor who only gave me more MEDS.
Perhaps you are thinking it must have been something else in my lifestyle. At the time, I was preparing for a fitness competition and eating a very clean diet. I was also exercising 6 days a week. It wasn’t until I went to a chiropractor that specialized in structural correction that I found the cause of my migraines. He took x-rays of my spine and said “that’s the cause.” Instead of a healthy, 45 degree C-curve in my neck, I had a reverse curve that was putting direct pressure on my brainstem. The top bone, the atlas, is supposed to be at 18 degrees. Instead, my atlas was extended to 43 degrees that also added direct pressure on my brainstem. The compression of my brainstem was causing my migraines. That first adjustment and the many adjustments that followed changed my life. As my nervous system healed, my migraines went away. I also found that my stress and anxiety decreased.
After 4 months, I had more energy and felt back to my normal self. Corrective chiropractic changed my life so much that I gave a 6 month notice at my work to go to Northwestern College of Chiropractic. After graduating, I continued my training to specialize in corrective chiropractic. One of only 7 practices in the entire state of Minnesota.
My mission is to help as many people as I can get their lives back, especially if they have tried everything before with no results.
